Hp Dv6000 Not Recognizing the Wireless Card After Windows Vista Upgrade - How to Fix It

Hello there. I bet a lot of you encounter wireless problem with the Hp laptops specially with the Dv6000 series. We run over this problem a lot in our Brooklyn computer mend shop and we found a quick fix that will share with you in this article.

There are two situations concerning the Hp laptops Dv series together with Dv1000, Dv2000, Dv6000, Dv9000 and Tx1000: first when the laptop will not recognize the wireless after an operating theory update (we found this problem mostly on Windows Vista operating system) and the second one when your laptop will not recognize the wireless suddenly when you turn it on.

For the first one the problem appear mostly before the Vista service pack 2 update, when your laptop will show and run only the Local area connection, and not on both: local area and wireless. To fix this problem first go on the Hp website, on the drivers download and download the driver for your model. Do not run it yet. Go Start, Right click on Computer, Properties, expedient manager, and on the Network adapters uninstall the Itap connection. After go on Windows updates, make sure you do not have any private updates and hunt for update. Run install for the updates (Windows Vista service pack 2). After install and restart, check if you have on Device manager the wireless network set it up, if not install the driver that you downloaded from the Hp website and make sure that your wireless button it is enabled (the front panel button must show blue color not red ). For sure this will fix your wireless problem when linked to software malfunctions.

For the second problem you are facing a hardware failure - the motherboard. If you own a computer mend shop, or you are handy with open a laptop and assembling it back, you might try a re-flow of your video chipset. If you do not have feel in laptop hardware, you will have the other option, to buy an Usb wireless card that can be verily linked to one of your Usb ports, the operating theory will recognize it fast and you will not need to install the drivers for it.

Also, when you have problems connecting to the internet check your computer for viruses, in most of the cases the virus or the ad-ware will originate a local connection, trying to not let you surf the web or redirecting all your hunt to their website. You will need to delete this connection from expedient manager, make updates on your antivirus program (Malwarebytes, Spybot hunt and destroy, etc) and take off the virus or ad-ware after.

Hope this article will help you fixing the laptop wireless problem. Good luck.
